Rudy Gobert is back in the NBA headlines and fortunately, the reason this time isn’t him getting pulled out of the team for punching a teammate. As Denver Nuggets pulled down the curtains on their season with a gentleman’s sweep. The Minnesota Timberwolves were only able to win one out of the five games played in the series and now as their season is ended they regret it. But the reason behind Rudy Gobert being on the heated discussion table is his recent interview.

Everyone on the Minnesota Timberwolves’ squad needs to get better after they were embarrassed by the Denver Nuggets in the first round. The stars and superstars of the team are blamed for the upset. And, Rudy Gobert needs to put in the most work this summer. As he’s also the reason behind the team’s weak chemistry, floor-placing issues, and unhappy teammates. And, now he’s ready to improve his game and get better. In a recent interview discussing his plan for the summer, Rudy quoted: “I can really plan on having the best summer I’ve ever had and really come back like I want to have the best year of my career next season. I know that this summer I’m going to put myself in position that I’ve never put myself in before.”

But that’s just not it as Rudy Gobert knowing the seriousness of the situation went on to give the fans a detailed blueprint of his plan. As he further added: “Just keep building on things I’ve been doing the last few years. First of all physically, just keep getting better and better and be able to be even more explosive. Obviously be able to be more healthy, stronger. In terms of skills, really try to reach that level that I’ve been able to tap in but not consistently yet, in terms of finishing. I haven’t really been able to be as dominant as I know I can become and really be able to try to reach my full potential. I know I have more gears that I can get to, and that’s why it’s exciting for me to do that and I’m going to do whatever it takes to try to get to that level.”

Even though Rudy Gobert is very sure about having the best summer of his career this year and coming back with some great improvements next season. The fans though have dropped him down from their list and aren’t riding with the promises of his after the upset. As they troll the DPOY on the internet.

With the Timberwolves, this season Rudy Gobert averaged 13.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 0.2 steals while suiting up for 70 Games and shooting 65.9% from the field. In the playoffs, he got his numbers but had no great impact in the game as the Denver Nuggets got an easy road. So it’s high time for him to improve if he wants to stay in the business and if he fails to do so this summer the chances of him being shipped around the league are very real.
