The NBA recently announced that they have chosen to retire the #6 jersey number across the league. This will be done in honor of the late great Bill Russell who passed away over a week ago. The 88-year old passed away naturally. The legend had over half a century of service to the community of basketball.

The former Boston Celtics center won 11 championships during his career, a record can possibly never be broken. Besides basketball, he was an advocate for the black community and fought against several society related issues as well. Retiring his number was only right but it will mean that several players will be affected by it.

He averaged 20 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. The duo lacked chemistry and would not get along which later made them trade the player to this current team.

His career with the Lakers began with #23 but he was asked to change it due to the arrival of Anthony Davis. Last season, Bron achieved milestones and averaged 30.3 points per game. He may potentially be the most affect having the most history with the number.
