Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter is under investigation by the NBA for his alleged involvement in prop betting

The NBA has a strict policy against players and other team staff betting against games. The policy also denies anyone affiliated with the league in an official capacity to bet against props. The league has dedicated staff to monitor bids taking place and collaborate with betting sites in search of anomalies. One such anomaly was when they noticed increased prop betting on Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter. It prompted an investigation by the NBA.

Jontay Porter is the younger brother of Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr.. He signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors in December and has performed well as a solid bench player. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported, citing betting reporter David Purdum, that Porter was under investigation by the league for his alleged involvement in aiding props. This came after several betting aggregators informed the NBA that props bets involving Porter were the biggest money-making deals in the betting circles.
