Trae Young led the Atlanta Hawks and extended their winning streak to 2 games after beating Orlando Magic in a nail-biting thriller. With this win, the Magic joined a list of teams whose winning streak was ended by the Hawks this season. With 1.3 seconds remaining, Dejounte Murray made two crucial free throws. Trae Young scored 37 points as the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Orlando Magic 126-125.
On Markelle Fultz’s layup with 3.8 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Orlando went on a 12-0 run over 2:17 to erase a 13-point deficit and seize the lead at 125-124. Paulo Banchero fouled Murray after Trae Young inbounded from the sideline. At the buzzer, Banchero missed a 3-point attempt as Murray made both of his free throws.
For the first time since January 2011, the Magic sought to go on a seven-game winning run. Orlando had dropped nine straight games and 11 in a row before the winning streak. Murray and John Collins made their way back into the Hawks squad as they returned from their left ankle sprain injuries.
Murray after the game spoke on how the team had to mature as a unit starting with him, he said, “Like I was preaching after the game, we’ve got to grow up, starting with me,” Murray said. “Just what we’re playing for, these types of games show we’re not playing to win and get to the playoffs and try to make noise. We’ve got to stop being comfortable. We almost lost the game.”

Trae Young and Atlanta Hawks end winning streaks of multiple teams
Orlando Magic become the latest team whose winning streak was ended by the Hawks, the Bucks and Kings fell prey before the Magic. The Bucks started their season with 9 consecutive wins before Trae Young and Co., ended their hopes of a double-digit winning streak. On November 8, 2022, Dejounte Murray scored 25 points and AJ Griffin added 24 points as the Atlanta Hawks upset the Milwaukee Bucks, 117-98. For the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 25 points.
Sacramento Kings on the other hand after losing games consecutively were on a 7 game-winning streak before the Hawks came along and spoilt the party. On the 24th of November, the 2 teams met in Atlanta, Trae Young starred in the Hawks’ victory by posting 35 points and 7 assists, coming in 2nd was Dejounte Murray who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Kings on the other hand were led by De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk who scored 13 and 27 points but ultimately fell short as they lost by 9 points.
