When Russell Westbrook was acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers for a hefty paycheck alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, many expected the trio to emerge as one of the best ever seen in the NBA. However, the reality was much different as Brodie’s stint went from bad to worse to worst in every successive game. 

After the Lakers failed to qualify for the play-in tournament, expectations are that the Lakers might have to suffer a hefty loss and trade Russell Westbrook. But it would indeed be a necessary if the Lakers are willing to contest for the championship with LeBron James by their side. Moreover, fans seemed to have lost their mind after Brodie recently liked a post wherein an angry Laker fan urged him to leave the side before the start of the 2022-23 season.

Russell Westbrook sends NBA Fans in frenzy 

On one hand where Russell Westbrook failed to inspire the Lakers to the best of his potential. It has to be realised that he played through pain and difficulties even when LeBron James and Anthony Davis were side-lined due to respected injuries.

Westbrook’s stints with Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers have not quite been successful, yet it does not glorify his genius and basketball acumen enough. Furthermore, in his defense, Westbrook did manage to play through the home-criticism and managed to calm himself in a rough and abusive storm.

So, have the home fans got the rather more fabricated image of Westbrook after the 2021-22 season, wherein majority of their players were below average? Remains to be a matter of opinion as we shall await what action would the purple and gold management take in order to take them back to championship level in the upcoming season. Will Russell Westbrook find a seat alongside LeBron and Davis? Or will we see a mega trade and some shocking trades along the way?
