“He took all the hate and used it as fuel” Twitter reacts as Russell Westbrook gets glorified while Lakers fans MVP chants roar mid-game
Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook has been balling in the last 4 games for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. Although the Lakers have been far from being in any conversation for the playoffs berth, Westbrook’s second coming is for sure good news for the Lakers. From coach and staff to teammates, everyone has been giving Russell his well-deserved flowers.
Russell Westbrook led the all-scorers for the Lakers putting up 26 points off the bench. Westbrook nearly had a perfect shooting first half. He has been fairly effective for the squad over the past four games. He has emerged as a strong early frontrunner for the sixth Man of the Year award and was instrumental in both of the Laker victories this year.
Not only the fans in the stand showed strong support for the Lakers’ star but some fans took to Twitter to show their support towards Russell for his new role in fueling the team. LeBron and Anthony Davis are far from having a dominating game in the last 3 appearances. Hopefully, when the trio comes back strong in the next few games there is a chance that the team’s fate might go in another direction.

The Lakers and Russell Westbrook lose to the Utah Jazz
Los Angeles lost to the Utah Jazz on Friday despite a great game from Russell Westbrook. Anthony Davis is battling a back issue that is obviously hindering his movement for portions of each possession. Lonnie Walker IV and LeBron playing more than 36 minutes per game are absolutely essential to this team’s success. Both situations are at best unpleasant realities.
The Westbrook conundrum in Los Angeles hasn’t just vanished overnight either. Darvin Ham, the head coach still rolled with Patrick Beverley on top of him to finish their victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on November 2 before losing to the Jazz on Friday. “We took a huge step backward tonight,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said of the defensive performance. He also added, “It’s the first game where I felt like we really weren’t there defensively.”
Twitter glorifies Russell Westbrook as the Lakers’ fans chant MVP for the superstar
Russell Westbrook has been having some really good performances over the last four games. The former MVP has been playing with regained intensity and attacking the basket. However, Westbrook started perfectly from the 3-point line hitting 2 for 2 from beyond the arc. Lakers fans have been all appreciative of Westbrook’s late performances.
Whereas some fans started chanting MVP for the star in the Crypto.com arena, some took Twitter to shower appreciation. One user said, “im proud of @russwest44 he really took all the hate and used it as fuel now he balling right now.“ Another user noted, “this version of russell westbrook is championship material for the LA lakers.“
