The Miami Heat have been a stellar offensive force this postseason. They’ve played some high-quality basketball and stunned the entire NBA fandom with the playoff run. However, in the very first game of the postseason, the Heat lost one of their best scorers. Tyler Herro was chasing a loose ball in Game 1 of the first-round series when he fell on the floor. Unfortunately, the guard suffered a hand fracture and was ruled out for the remainder of the games.
Although Herro hasn’t played a game since his injury, he has been cleared to resume basketball activity. The broken hand was supposed to take around six weeks to heal. Initially, there was no timetable for when the guard could start playing again. However, after recent reports, Herro is suspected of returning in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The Miami Heat will face the Denver Nuggets for the championship title of the 2022-23 NBA season.
Herro was arguably having the best season of his career in the 2022-23 NBA season. He was averaging 20.1 points per game with 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists. Moreover, he was Miami’s second-best scorer this year, second to Jimmy Butler. However, fortunately for Miami, Herro’s absence didn’t prove to be too costly. Duncan Robinson was brought in as a replacement as Miami made quick adjustments to keep their season alive.

Will Tyler Herro start after his return?
As of now there is no clear indication or statement as to where Tyler Herro will play if he were to return. The young guard was a definite starter for Miami and player really well all season long. However, players returning after an injury tend to be on a minutes restriction. This might cause Herro to come off the bench instead of his using starting position.
On the other hand, many argue that Herro’s inclusion on the side could disrupt the team’s stability. After all, the Heat have made it all the way to the finals despite being the eighth seed in the East. If they want to beat the Denver Nuggets, they would have to play the highest level of basketball. This is where the team’s already existing game plan and game plays are of key importance. Although Herro’s return is still speculative, the Heat would like to have one of their best players back.
