It was the Los Angeles derby day as the arch-rivals LA Lakers took on the LA Clippers. The NBA world saw one of the most mouth-watering clashes as the Clippers defeated the Lakers, making it a 9-0 record. Everyone praised Tyronn Lue, the head coach of the Clippers for this extraordinary record achievement as he has led his team to it.

The winning streak started way back in 2020, when Tyronn Lue took over as the head coach and since then has kept the record intact for the third season in a row. The team with the likes of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard have always maintained an upper hand over the Lakers.

In a post-game interview, Tyronn was asked about LeBron James and him chasing the all-time points scorer record. To which Lue replied, “The biggest thing I think is the hard work he has put in, coming in at 18 years old and being on the top as long as he has, to meet all the standards and in all the pressures he had coming out of high school, he surpassed that more like people think he would be this and so just all the hard work and dedication that he’s put in then, you know being a past first guy.”

Lue added, “Now coming out, he’s known to be a past first guy, and now have a chance to, you know, all-time leading scorer; that’s huge, and so I’m hopefully in town because I’m coming to their game, and if I don’t have a game I will still come to their game as would be an accomplishment. It’s like I love LeBron.”

The Clippers added to the Lakers’ misery as they defeated them 114-101, handing them their ninth loss out of eleven games they played this season. Moreover, they have also lost their star player LeBron James to a groin injury. James limped back to the bench mid-way through the game. And, now will be out for a while as reports say. The NBA world gave out mixed reactions when the Clippers won for a record ninth time. Some of them can be seen below:

The Clippers head coach Tyron had a mouthful of praises for the NBA legend LeBron James and is confident that he will break the all-time scoring record soon. When asked about the Lakers as a whole unit, Lue is adamant that the Lakers will fight back against all odds.

In his post-game interview, Lue stated that the Lakers would be fine and that they have a sharp coach, and it’s been in the history of the NBA league, that new coaches always have a slow start. He also added that they know what their combinations are and will have all of it figured out soon.
