Unbelievable stat shows just how DISASTROUS Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic’s team up was for the Mavericks
Front Office Blamed for Dallas Mavericks' Disappointing 2022-23 Season

The Dallas Mavericks‘ disappointing 2022-23 season has led to finger-pointing across the organization, with blame being assigned to various parties. However, a recent analysis has suggested that the front office deserves the majority of the blame for the team’s current situation.
The Mavericks came into the season with high expectations after reaching the Western Conference Finals last year. However, a series of poor roster moves has left them struggling to make the playoffs, with just a 6% chance of qualifying.
Despite the acquisition of Kyrie Irving, the team has looked out of sorts since the trade deadline, and their lackluster roster has only been worsened by the loss of Dorian Finney-Smith. While Irving has been a standout player, the team has failed to solidify around him.
The blame for this situation has been placed on various parties, including superstar Luka Doncic and controversial player Kyrie Irving. However, the front office has ultimately been identified as the root cause of the team’s struggles.
In recent years, the Mavericks have made a series of bad moves, including the Kristaps Porzingis trade, which seemed to benefit the other team more than the Mavericks. They have also lost valuable players like Jalen Brunson for nothing and given up significant assets for half-season rentals.
As a result, the Mavericks are now an asset-strapped organization that is headed for the draft lottery with a superstar player in his prime. The team’s future is uncertain, but it is clear that the front office will need to make significant changes to get the team back on track.
Dallas Mavericks Consider Shutting Down Irving and Doncic for Rest of Season to Secure High-Draft Pick
The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly considering the possibility of sidelining their star players Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic for the remainder of the season. The move is said to be motivated by the team’s current standing outside of the playoff picture and the value of a high draft pick.
The Mavericks have a top 10 protected pick, which they risk losing if they make the playoffs. As a result, the team may opt to protect their draft pick by not risking the health of their key players. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Mavericks may even consider trading their draft pick and other assets in the offseason to acquire a solid player.
“I’m told that the organization is seriously considering the possibility of shutting down those three [sic] guys,” Shams said Monday on FanDuel TV. “They have a top 10 protected pick. So being out of the play-in race, it behooves them not to try and keep their pick.”
While the Mavericks still have a chance to make the play-in tournament, they may decide to focus on their long-term prospects and cut their losses early. The Mavericks are currently the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference, just two wins behind the No. 9 seed Timberwolves.
The team has just three games left in the regular season, with their next game scheduled against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, followed by the Chicago Bulls on Friday, and their final game against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.
The decision to shut down Irving and Doncic could have a significant impact on the team’s performance in the remaining games. However, it may also be a strategic move for the long-term success of the franchise.
