Vince Carter sat down on SportsCenter to talk about a plethora of topics ranging from the Boston Celtics’ win against the Brooklyn Nets which involved heroics of Jayson Tatum to Kyrie Irving’s scuffle with the Boston crowd for the entirety of the game. What was seen in the game was a continuous back and forth between the Celtics’ crowd and Irving who didn’t want to take an L in the trash talk. The crowd was trying to be harsh on Irving, but even the player didn’t want to hold himself back from giving strong replies, which included abusive words and middle-fingers as the response.

With all of this going down in game 1, the analysts gave their take on how Kyrie should’ve or could’ve reacted and what he should do in the coming games, and Vince Carter was one of those analysts who had been in that situation and was giving an honest opinion. Ranging from personal opinions to the right way of doing things, Carter sat down and discussed the Boston Celtics crowd which according to many aren’t going to stop heckling the players, specifically, Kyrie Irving, who doesn’t really have good relations with them.

Being an ex-player from the team, ever time that Irving steps on court, he faces backlash and heat from the crowd which doesn’t seem to be stopping any times soon with their intentions of troubling him till the time that he gives up.

Kyrie Irving’s clash with the Boston Celtics crowd which has been going on since the time he left the team took a wild turn in the Nets’ game against the Celtics in their Game 1 clash of the playoff series.  The player ended up showing the middle finger to the crowd multiple times while also cussing a few hecklers, which drew strong reactions from the NBA Pundits. One of such people was ex-NBA player Vince Carter, who didn’t really criticize Irving, but instead seemed to be giving advice that sounded absolutely fair and justified.

Carter’s advice to Irving

Vince started off by saying that the Celtics fans were letting Irving know that he left the team on bad terms, and that they will make sure to get under his skin whenever they get the chance. While citing his own example, Carter said that the thing that distracted him from reacting to the hecklers was staying focused on his job and doing what he was supposed to be doing. Vince also followed it up by saying that everyone had their own way to deal with such crowds, and the most effective one for Irving would be to go there, and get the win, which would shut a lot of people up.

Carter concluded that Kyrie had fuelled the fire by reacting to the trash talk and therefore it would be louder the next time he stepped on court in the TD Garden. He stated that even if Kyrie feels like replying isn’t affecting him, but still blocking the negativity out by ignoring it will help him and not let them get under his skin. Carter concluded that the Nets getting a win will definitely shut all the people up.
