Warriors star Draymond Green pulls up ‘RACIST CARD’ on Chris Russo after ‘Shut up and play’ rant on National TV

Chris Russo and Draymond Green

Golden State Warriors marquee Draymond Green seems to be not done and dusted with his tirade against Chris Russo. After the latter wanted the former DPOT to ‘shut up and play’, he was completely blasted by former player turned analyst, JJ Redick. And now it is time for Green to throw a few shades at Russo for his rather skeptical opinion on matters.

Having contested in the NBA himself, Redick completely dunked on Redick couple of days ago when he presented his views on Draymond Green. With the racist card already implied by JJ Redick, Draymond Green seems to have taken this issue to a whole new level, just like his defensive plays for the Dubs. Don’t believe us? “I’m not one to really pull the race card very often because I think we all know the role that race play in the world that we live in,” said the Golden State Warriors star on the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show. “That definitely had a very racist connotation. Those ‘shut up and play,’ ‘shut up and dribble’ days, those are long gone. We don’t listen to that anymore. We don’t wanna hear it anymore. It has no place here nor will it be tolerated.”

To those who are not aware, Draymond Green then went on to reveal that he turned down an offer from ESPN to join First Take before he eventually signed a deal with Turner. Russo would’ve had been nothing but pleased to acknowledge that the veteran defender is not turning up in the studio, because given the nature of Green, things would have surely gone out hands.

That being said, whether this issue will fuel Draymond Green to make a huge impact in the approaching Game 3 vs the Memphis Grizzlies remains to be seen. But it surely seems like Green is not going to have anyone pass comments on him so easily, especially when the Dubs are back with their full wrath in the playoffs after 2 years.
