Draymond Green has entered counseling. NBA Insider Shams Charania of “The Athletic” reported yesterday that the Golden State Warriors superstar has agreed to get help. After discussions with the NBA and the Warriors, Green has agreed to remain in counseling for three weeks.
Green was suspended indefinitely for the hit he landed on Phoenix Suns player Jusuf Nurkic. The league, the Warriors, Green, his agent Rich Paul, and other members of his close circle met to discuss the repeated aggressive behavior. Green agreed to get help from a league-sponsored program. The period of counseling is scheduled for at least three weeks after which he will be assessed. Green will miss a minimum of 12 games in these three weeks before he will be cleared to return. Again, the league, the Warriors, and their support staff will decide when to terminate this suspension.

Draymond Green has a history of aggressive behavior in the league. This latest ejection was the 20th of his career. The Jusuf Nurkic incident is the second suspension for Green during this season. The first was a five-game suspension for putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock. The NBA mentioned that Green’s history of repeated unsportsmanlike conduct played a role in both suspensions.
Draymond Green has been the vocal leader for the Golden State Warriors throughout his career. He has been the defensive stalwart of the Warriors, who rely on their star guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to lead the offense. Green, a four-time champion with the Warriors has primed his game on his defensive acumen and his ability to be the playmaker of the Warriors league-changing offense. Without Green, the Warriors are not the same.
Fans wondering if three weeks is enough to solve the problem
Three weeks of counseling scheduled by the NBA are geared toward helping Draymond Green solve whatever problems he might be facing. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr mentioned this, speaking to the reporters:
To me, this is about more than basketball. It’s about helping Draymond. I think it’s an opportunity for Draymond to step away and to make a change in his approach and his life and that’s not an easy thing to do. That’s not something you say, ‘OK, five games and then he’s going to be fine.Steve Kerr to the reporters
The Warriors and the league will have to wait and see if it is enough to get Green back on track.

NBA fans hope this situation helps Green and the Warriors in their quest for another title run. However, some fans remain perplexed if the three weeks are enough to solve the problem. They voiced their opinions on social media. Have a look at what the fans think;
Hopefully, this counseling program will help Green overcome whatever he is facing mentally. Everyone will wait and watch to see if this program helps Green to come back on the court with full focus on the actual target.
