The Western Conference Semi-Finals Game 4 was a rough game for the Golden State Warriors. Not only did they blow a healthy lead, they now trail the series 3-1. While it was a harsh outing for every Warrior, Gary Payton II had a devilish moment on the court. It was during the early stages of the game when the event occurred. Payton II was on the court for his side as the Los Angeles Lakers were on the offense. This is when he was seen with a huge bulge in his mouth, asking his coach to stop the game.
While many fans didn’t really understand what was going on, Payton II walked off the court. Later, it was figured out that the Warriors forward had thrown up during the game and held it inside for an entire play. He desperately tried to stop the game. However, when no timeout was called, the forward just simply walked off to take care of his situation. He later returned to the game and put up 15 points with three rebounds and two assists by the end of it.
The Golden State Warriors had a forgetful Game 4. Lonnie Walker IV came out in the fourth quarter with 15 points shooting 6-9 from field goals. Moreover, apart from Stephen Curry, the Warriors roster was pretty much cold. Curry put up a triple-double with 31 points, ten rebounds, and 14 assists. Gary Payton II was the next best scorer with nearly half the points. The Lakers had a formidable team effort as LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves all put up 20+ points. The score at the end of regulation was 101-104 in favor of the Lakers.

Are the Golden State Warriors struggling against the Los Angeles Lakers?

The Golden State Warriors are now down 3-1 in the series. While their season hangs in the balance, they would reflect on a lot of issues. Stephen Curry and his struggles with clutch shots continue as the former MVP failed to make two consecutive shots in the final seconds. Moreover, Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson have been off-color for a while and the Warriors simply can’t afford that.
Although the Warriors have made a comeback from a 3-1 deficit in the past, they’re up against a much more stacked-up Lakers lineup. LeBron James has been in excellent touch, while Anthony Davis has been a beast in the paint. Moreover, DeAngelo Russell, Dennis Schröder, and Austin Reaves have been very impressive with their contributions on the floor. Needless to say that the Warriors are, in fact, struggling with their adjustments during the games against LA.
While many fans and critics have already declared the series over, the Warriors can’t be written off yet. The defending champions have got a truckload of experience with them. Veterans like Curry and Draymond Green know how to pick themselves back up and win games. However, the task in front of them is pretty challenging as they have to win three consecutive games to keep their season alive. If they don’t, their season’s a wrap. Regardless, we can only wait and watch if the series goes to Game 7 or if the Lakers take an early ticket to the Western Conference Finals.
