Tacko Fall was probably the most fan-favorite NBA bench player before signing a contract with Nan Jing Monkey Kings in China. Fall played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics and also played for teams in the G-League. An X.com (former Twitter) user Ballislife.com uploaded a video of Tacko Fall dunking on a 6’3” Wang Zirui of the Shanghai Sharks. Fall ruthlessly scored against the Chinese defender.

In the first quarter, Fall cut baseline to the basket on possession and placed the screen beyond the three-point arc.  His guard teammate, who was being doubled on the play, made the right decision and made a dribble pass to Fall.

The video shows that Wang Zirui of the Shanghai Sharks catches the ball and Fall dunks onto him. This was too much work because Fall would jump over 10 feet. As Fall’s defender attempted to shield him, he collapsed to the ground. Just when they were done with the stare-down, Fall rushed back into his defensive position. Ballislife.com X.com account captioned the video stating:

Fall stands 7 feet 6 inches, with an 8 foot 2 inch wingspan, and a 10 foot 2 inch stretch. It will always be difficult for any player to guard someone so high, especially within the post.  As expected, the Chinese league player had no chance when he tried to stop the action while coming down caught by the African player in his body.

How did Fall’s limitations affect his NBA career?

Tacko Fall would be in the NBA right now if it were up to the fans. He was particularly well-liked by Boston Celtics supporters. The Senegalese tried to hold onto his league position, but his luck ran out.

Fans continue to dream that Fall may rejoin the NBA in the future:

Fall is tall, but he is not quick enough and athletic to be an effective defender or scorer. He played for the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers during his years in the NBA. His average points were 2.3, rebounds 2.5, assists 0.2 and 0.8 blocks. However, Fall was just a big guy who had less up his sleeves to score in a league such as the NBA. He also could not guard multiple positions where he was assigned a defensive assignment. This eventually made him stop producing for most of the league until he was out of it.
