Rudy Gobert and Draymond Green‘s animosity finally boiled over into a full-blown skirmish during a game. Just ninety seconds into the first quarter of the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors rematch, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green got into a physical fight with Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels. Jaden McDaniels, Thompson, and Green were ejected for their role in the fight.

The fight broke out as a result of a struggle between Thompson and McDaniels. Gobert tried to interfere and break the fight, but was choked from behind by Green. Thompson and McDaniels got into a fight with 10:17 remaining in the first quarter, with the score still 0-0. Green’s attack on Gobert will likely yield a fine or a suspension.

Eventually, when the fight started between Thompson and McDaniels, players on both teams rushed to the site of the fight and tried to separate them from each other. At that point, Green entered the fight, snatching Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert and forcing him out of the scrum with a headlock.

For the second time in two nights, the Timberwolves and Warriors are on the court. Minnesota won the previous game 116-110, resulting in the Dubs’ third straight defeat. They ejected green for the second time this season; the first occurred during the Warriors’ home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers after he picked up two technical fouls during the game.

Draymond Green and Rudy Gobert’s history of bad blood

This wasn’t the first instance of Draymond Green and Rudy Gobert indulging in a heated battle. Due to his unmatched intensity in playing the sport, Green is regarded as one of the more interesting players because of his controversial on-court fights. The stew of beef between the two had been brewing for almost a year before finally combusting on the court on Tuesday night.

It all started when Draymond punched Jordan Poole following a heated argument during practice. Gobert threw a verbal jab at Draymond for his actions and trolled him by posting,”Insecurity is always loud” on social media. When the Timberwolves’ French star got into a heated argument with teammate Kyle Anderson, which almost led to a fistfight, Green clapped back at Gobert, posting, “Insecurity is always loud.”

Even though it has been several months since the incident involving Poole, it is evident that Green has not forgotten some of the criticism provided by his NBA colleagues. It’s almost like the physical fight we witnessed this time, and it won’t freeze any time soon.
