WATCH: Draymond Green yells at Warriors head coach Steve Kerr for subbing him out while TRASH-TALKING Pelicans player
Draymond Green and Steve Kerr had a heated exchange after the former was subbed out of the game while trash talking Herb Jones
Draymond Green
Draymond Green loves to talk trash more than most players, but his behavior backfired during the Golden State Warrior‘s win against the New Orleans Pelicans. Draymond was spotted talking trash to Herb Jones during an inbounds play while Herb did not respond. Jones then pointed out that Steve Kerr was subbing him out of the game while he was talking trash, which led to quite an awkward situation.
For anyone good at lip-reading it is obvious that Draymond Green is yelling, “No, don’t do that, I’m fine,” at coach Steve Kerr while walking back to the bench. Steve Kerr was smiling at the situation as he knew Draymond tends to get into it in the heat of the moment and was going back and forth with Herb Jones. Jones did not seem to be fazed by the trash talk and smirked at Draymond when he was getting subbed off.
The Golden State Warriors were down by 17 points at halftime but turned it around to win by 11 points with a masterclass from Stephen Curry. Draymond Green contributed a handy 8 points and 13 assists apart from trash-talking. Draymond Green did, however, pick up five fouls which is why he was substituted while he was trash-talking so that he does not pick up any more unnecessary fouls.
Stephen Curry drops 39 points as the Golden State Warriors come from behind to beat the New Orleans Pelicans
The Warriors have been an inconsistent team this season but dominant at home despite their struggles. Stephen Curry rallied back Golden State from a 46-63 halftime deficit to win 120-109. Curry scored 22 of his 39 points in the second half while shooting 8-14 from three-point range in their win. The Warriors went on a three-point shooting spree in the second half, leading them to the victory.
The Golden State Warriors picked up a crucial win in maintaining their places in the guaranteed playoff spot, as they are 0.5 games ahead of the 7th-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves. The Western Conference playoffs are a very tight race right now, and the 4x champs have won 4 of their last five during crunch time. The Warriors will know that once they make the playoffs, they have an impeccable record of making the finals yearly with Draymond Green and Klay Thompson healthy.
The Warrior’s possible playoff matchup if they remain as the 6th seed is the Sacramento Kings. The Kings are making the playoffs after over a decade, while the Warriors have been champions four times in the last eight years. Despite their regular season struggles, Golden State will be confident in their skill and experience to take down a young Kings team come playoff time.
