“People make a joke out of Russ!” Kevin Durant surprisingly defends Russell Westbrook’s GREATNESS quashing all claims of ‘bad blood’ between the two greats

Most series have taken a huge turn, with the first round of the playoffs halfway through. The Phoenix Suns have taken a 3-1 lead against the Los Angeles Clippers. After a somewhat a thrilling second half, the Suns took control and took Game 4. The Clippers, on the other hand, did not have two of their best players available. Despite that, they put up a great performance.

The Suns will now host Game 5, as the Clippers will try to come back from this huge deficit. Playing without their stars, Russell Westbrook shined in Game 4. After a rough time in L.A. playing for the Lakers, Russ seems to have redeemed himself. Not only the Clippers fans but also the Suns’ players had nothing but praise for the former MVP.

This condensed playoff game was followed by Westbrook’s 37-point performance. With Kawhi Leonard out, Russ took control of the game. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists. Russ also made a few crucial shots in the fourth quarter, but the Clippers couldn’t hold off the Suns’ scorers. Looking at the stats, Westbrook has been doing a fantastic job so far in the series. Facing the hate off the court, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul came in defense of Russ.

Being Westbrook’s former teammate, Durant had to let everyone know about Russ’ true game. “Russ has been resilient his whole life. He come to work, don’t say much, just come hoop so… When he retires, people are gonna tell the truth about how they feel about his game. Right now it’s a fun thing to do, they make a joke out of Russ.”, said Durant ahead of a Game 4 win.

By the numbers, Westbrook is averaging 26 points a game versus the Suns. This performance of his comes after the Clippers played short-handed. Chris Paul of the Suns had words for Russ’ performance as well. “I feel like the only people to do that is the people who don’t know ball.”, said Paul.

Reportedly, there still is an ‘unsaid’ feud between the former teammates. The two went head-on in 2017 but it was assumed that things are getting back in place for Durant and Westbrook but Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe alleged a “Deep, unspoken beef” between the two to date.

Kevin Durant and the Suns will look to close the series in Game 5

Every star player receives criticism for his game. Durant played with Russ for eight seasons. Knowing his true potential and work ethic, Kevin knows Russ does not deserve all the hate he gets, especially on social media. Now playing against him in this series, Durant and the Suns seem to have a strong scoring advantage over the Clippers, having all their four All-Stars go up against a former MVP. This battle, as of now, is heavily in favor of the Suns, though only time will tell whether the course of the series will change.
