Kevin Durant took the last shot of today’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a tournament-deciding shot for his Phoenix Suns.

With 6 seconds on the clock, Devin Booker grabbed Anthony Davis’ missed free throw and passed it to Durant. He dribbled up the floor and launched a 3-pointer with 2.8 seconds left to tie the game, which at that point was 103-106. But unlike his heroics during his Golden State Warriors days, this shot did not even go anywhere near the rim.

The resulting air ball ended the Phoenix Suns In-Season Tournament. They were trailing the LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers by 3 points till that shot. Had it gone in, the game would have gone to overtime and given the Suns a chance to reset.

However, Kevin Durant pulled up and missed wide off the mark. Fans were left bemused by the shot selection. As he did not even wait to set his feet.

How fans reacted to Kevin Durant’s miss

NBA fans were quick to react to Durant missing a wide-open jumper. Something he took with ease during previous years. Durant is known to be an excellent clutch shooter.

But with the game on the line, and that too with such magnitude of the In-Season Tournament, fans were livid.

The fans have spoken. It was a hard pill to swallow for some of them.
