Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and the former Laker Carmelo Anthony have for over 20 years given the NBA fans friendship goals. The two superstars have been close to each other since high school and were drafted the same year in the NBA. Despite being two of the fiercest contenders in the league for almost twenty years in the league, the game and the competition have only brought them together.
The friendship between these two rivals has transcended not only the basketball court but has also touched their life as a father. Both James and Anthony had their sons playing for Sierra Canyon and Christ The King respectively in a star-studded match. Apart from LeBron and Carmelo, Scottie Pippen, Kim Kardashian, Juju Watkins, and other big stars were also in attendance.
After 20 years of the showdown between Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James, their sons squared off on Monday night in a match between Sierra Canyon and Christ The King. Two of the players representing Sierra Canyon were James’ son Bronny James and Bryce James. Kiyan Anthony, Melo’s son represented Christ The King. The face-off between the sons of the two NBA legends was a much-anticipated match in Chatsworth, California.

At halftime, both Carmelo and LeBron met with each other while their sons were on a break before the 3rd quarter. Though Melo was left off of the Lakers roster after last season, there was no loss of friendship between the two. Two were seen laughing and candidly pushing each other while also whispering in each other ears.
Malika Andrews from ESPN was also present covering the game and spoke to Melo about his son and his own future in the NBA. While he expressed his joy of watching his son play, about his return Anthony said, “I love the game, but I realize that there are lot of things that is not in my control. So, I just sit back and let it all play out and whatever is gonna be is gonna be…I am at peace with that.” Melo also added he loves spending good time with his son and enjoys being a father.
Unlike 20 years ago when Melo defeated Bron, the result of the match between their prodigies was the opposite. Canyon defeated Christ 62-51 in four quarters. Bronny James scored 12 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dropped 3 dimes. Kiyan scored 10 points and had some Carmelo Anthony-style highlights in the game.
