While the entire NBA was excited to watch LeBron James return from injury, the Chicago Bulls were in town to spoil the party. The Los Angeles Lakers played hosts to the Bulls in a much-anticipated game. The Bulls, however, had no intentions of giving a warm welcome to LeBron as they beat the hosts 118-108. However, this wasn’t the only reason why the game came down to be this exciting.

Following the trade to Orlando Magic, Patrick Beverley had boiling tensions with the Lakers. The point guard spoke about the Lakers’ management on multiple occasions after the trade. Indicating bad blood between the two parties, the Bulls guard has been critical of his former team. While LeBron’s return was already exciting for fans, Beverly’s return to LA added its own zest to the game. He most certainly did not forget to remind everyone that there has been no love lost between him and the franchise. At the end of regulation, Beverley was seen interacting with the Lakers fans in his own fashion.

Heading into the game, Patrick Beverley was known, among other things, for his short stint in LA. Many eyes were keen to see him back, playing in LA with the Bulls, and he certainly did not disappoint. Beverley’s antics were entertaining, to say the very least. From calling LeBron small after scoring on him to giving it back to the crowd, he wasn’t holding anything back.

As the final buzzer was about to go off, Beverley looked at the audience to express his euphoria. “Yeah motherf**kers!” he screamed as the Bulls rose victorious against the Lakers, as the guard’s return to LA turned out to be successful.

Patrick Beverley has been one of those veterans who has fashioned himself an NBA career being a journeyman. Before being a reliable guard for the Bulls, Pat Bev was traded around six times!

Starting the trade chain from the Los Angeles Clippers in 2021, he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies then traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who handed him over to the Utah Jazz. After Utah, Beverley found himself in LA with the Lakers, which is when his rocky relationship with the franchise started.

While playing for the Lakers, Beverley averaged about 6.4 points, 2.6 assists, and 3.1 rebounds. The problem, according to him, was the inconsistent vibes that lead to inconsistent plays.“It wasn’t basketball. It was other sh*t but other sh*t that you couldn’t point out. The vibes were sometimes on, sometimes off. Inconsistent vibes leads to inconsistent play,” said the Bulls guard.

Beverley has also spoken about how he, in his opinion, was misused by the Lakers in their gameplay. In an analogy referring to himself as a spoon, he also mentions how well he fits in Chicago. “If I’m a spoon, Billy (Donovan) is using me as a spoon. With the Lakers, I was a spoon and they were using me as a fork. It’s just different,”  Beverley concluded.
