Giannis Antetokounmpo does not shy away from a physical challenge, and Torrey Craig was on the wrong end of an elbow from the Greek Freak. The Phoenix Suns suffered a 116-104 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, and Torrey Craig lost more than just the game. Around 4 3 minutes into the second half, Craig collided with Giannis while guarding him and immediately hit the floor.

Craig was seen picking his tooth off the floor and checking for any more damage inside his mouth. The play moved on with Giannis passing it to Lopez or a missed three before the Suns called a timeout. Giannis did not realize his mistake, as the elbow was inadvertent due to Craig being on his blindside. Antetokounmpo’s large frame causes his elbow to be at face level while matching up against smaller defenders, which caused this collision.

The Phoenix Suns forward did not score any points for the rest of the game as the Bucks dominated in an easy victory. Devin Booker put up a solid effort with 30 points of his own but was no match to Giannis’ 36 points and 11 rebounds. Brook Lopez also played well after being ejected in the previous game, scoring 21 points and grabbing ten rebounds.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has secured a place in the playoffs yet again for the Milwaukee Bucks as they reached their 50th win. The Bucks become the first 50-win team this season and have widened the gap on the Boston Celtics to 3 games at the top of the Eastern Conference.

The Milwaukee Bucks have notched up their 4th fifty-win season in the last five years despite two seasons being shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been at the center of the Bucks’ success averaging 31 points and 12 rebounds this season. Giannis is one of the top three candidates in the MVP race, along with Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid.

Antetokounmpo is always part of the MVP conversation, but his main goal is always the championship. The Bucks won their first title in over 50 years back in 2021 and made the conference finals last year, only to fall in 7 games to the Boston Celtics. In case of a rematch this season, the Bucks will have the upper hand with a healthier and more in-form roster.
