WATCH: Ziaire Williams hit UNREAL full-court buzzer-beater during Grizzlies-Suns showdown
To end the third quarter in Phoenix, Ziaire Williams made a ridiculous 80-foot shot.

The Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns have recently been the two teams moving in different directions, with Memphis rising to second in the West and Phoenix falling all the way to tenth place. On Sunday in Phoenix, Memphis’ recent performance didn’t really matter because the Suns had a 25-point lead over the Grizzlies at the half, testing their resiliency. Ziaire Williams gave the Grizzlies an unexpected boost to end the third quarter when he grabbed a rebound and put up an 80-foot buzzer-beater that banked in to reduce the lead to 15 heading into the fourth.
The Grizzlies would continue to chip away and make it a game late. While chance undoubtedly plays a part in banking one in from the opposite restricted area, this has a solid argument for the strangest shot of the season.
The NBA has seen some incredible shots this season. In the second half, Memphis attempted to rally for a stunning comeback that fell just short, cutting the lead to two in the final seconds, but they did show their fight even in a game they could have easily punted on at the half after falling behind significantly. These three of the 16 points Williams provided Memphis off the bench were special.
Williams’ three-pointer capped a 9-0 rally that cut the Grizzlies’ deficit to 87-72 entering the fourth quarter from as many as 29 points. Memphis reduced the score to one possession in the final seconds, but they were unable to recover a stray ball before time ran out. Williams, the 10th overall pick in the 2021 draft, is only making 24.5 percent of his three-point attempts this year. He equaled his season-best of 16 points against the Suns and went 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.
Memphis Grizzlies played their worst game against the Suns
Memphis trailed the Suns 62-37 at the half in Phoenix after playing its worst basketball of the season. After missing the previous seven games, Chris Paul returned, and the Suns were in a dominant position. Chris Paul finished with 22 points and 11 assists.
Phoenix has a 24-24 record, is back to.500, and has scored at least 112 points in each of its previous three contests. Steven Adams ruled the paint with 10 points and 16 rebounds, while Ja Morant led the Grizzlies with 27 points. Memphis was never in the lead during the game. The Grizzlies will next face the Sacramento Kings on Monday night
