Why does Patrick Beverley hate Chris Paul: A timeline of their strained relationship

Patrick Beverly berated Chris Paul

Following Phoenix’s Game 7 defeat to Dallas in May, Patrick Beverley wasted no time in joining the Chris Paul smear campaign. Early in the morning, Pat Bev appeared on ESPN and attacked longtime rival CP3 repeatedly. When it came to dismantling Paul, he didn’t hold back.

Beverley is known for always having something to say, whether it is on the court, on Twitter or on television. After the match in May, Beverley appeared on ESPN’s Get Up with Mike Greenberg, Stephen A. Smith and J.J. Reddick and discussed what had happened the previous evening.

In one clip, according to Pat Bev, Paul ought to have been benched since the Suns weren’t gaining anything out of him. After his NBA career is over, Beverley would be ideal as a talking head. He has always been that during his career in the league.

Pat Beverley’s most significant asset has been his tongue, despite the fact that he is known for playing aggressive defense and frequently scooping up ball handlers full court. He has the gift of gab and isn’t hesitant to let his voice resonate in the ears of his adversaries.

Chris Paul and Beverly have been at odds since Chris was in college. Beverly said that he “destroyed” Paul, who was present at a camp at the time in his capacity as a pro. In May, during the NBA playoffs, this was discussed with Stephen A. Smith.

“I appreciate everything he’s done for the game,” Beverley said. “Me and CP, this started when I was in college. I went to LeBron James’ camp… and I got a taste of little CP there… It’s always been something from there.”

Both point guards are seasoned NBA players, but Paul’s career is more legendary. Paul is a 12-time All-Star, a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, a nine-time All-Defensive team, and an 11-time All-NBA.

When Paul’s era is complete, he will unquestionably be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Beverly, on the other hand, is a capable athlete but is only acknowledged as a defensive expert.

Their contests against one another make for an intriguing study. Chris Paul’s teams have an 11-9 record versus Beverly’s teams when the two teams go off. Paul dominated Beverly in all but one statistical area throughout those games, the number of rebounds.

The Western Conference will provide Paul and Beverly plenty of opportunities to see each other. When these men encounter one another, be prepared for plenty of conversation and passionate play.
