“Brittney Griner is not well” WNBA star’s wife raises alarming concern over deteriorating health conditions in Russia
Brittney Griner has been away from home for more than 200 days now. The situation has reached a point where all she can do is wait and pray that the Russians agree to be merciful. However, whether it was intended or not, smuggling drugs into Russia is a massive offensive they take very seriously.
Ever since the WNBA player’s arrest, Cherelle Griner (wife) has been relentlessly fighting to bring her back to the US. So far, the government has only proposed a prisoner swap for the baller and former Marine Paul Whelan. The US is willing to trade Viktor Bout, a notorious arms dealer in exchange for their people. Russia has yet to agree.
Cherelle on the other hand has only been able to communicate with BG via letters. For a good period of time, the two were almost separated from each other with no means of communication. Now that letters are being exchanged, Cherelle claims her wife is “not well” and is “losing it” which indicates health related issues.

Joe Biden meets with the Griner and Whelan families
President Biden announced his visit to both families to address their plans on how to retrieve Brittney Griner and Paul Whelan. Investigative reporter T.J Quinn claimed that this meeting was mainly set up between both parties to help the government buy themselves time and patience from both families.
CNN’s Abby D. Phillip tweeted saying they Cherelle was glad that the President and his team had taken time to have a conversation. “I don’t think they have quite figured out exactly what Russia wants in return for BG,” said Cherelle. But she also included that she had confidence that the government is headed in the right direction.
Cherelle also gave a statement saying, “I want to thank President Biden for today’s meeting. It was an honor to speak with him directly about the Brittney we know and love, and to thank him for the Administration’s efforts to secure her release. I’ve felt every minute of the grueling seven months without her. I look forward to the day my wife is back home.”
