When the New Orleans Pelicans ramped up big in the 2021-22 season by surprisingly making their way into the playoffs, many criticized Zion Williamson for giving up on his team. However, the franchise never gave up on the player as he has been finally offered a contract extension of $193 Million over 5-years, which has finally allowed the 22-year-old to finally come out and reveal his true emotions.

The number one pick in the 2019 NBA draft finally addressed all the false rumors of wanting to be out of New Orleans. Furthermore, the 22-year-old was massively trolled by analysts, former players and fans for gaining extra pounds. Zion Williamson even revealed that his family was harassed and questioned upon why they did not like the place. Safe to say, in this age, where body-shaming is a social issue, there were double standards adopted in the case of Zion Williamson.

It’s official Zion Williamson has been locked-in with the Pelicans as he returns to the hardwood in the upcoming 2022-23 season. While he has struggled with injuries, Zion is a walking bucket. The Pelicans’ forward in his 85-games so far has averaged 25.7 PPG, 7.0 RPG, and 3.2 assists, shooting 60.4% from the field. On the same note he spoke on some of the wrongly framed narratives about him as well. Zion broke his silence during a recent press conference as he signed a max extension with the New Orleans Pelicans.

That being said, with the likes of Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum, and Jonas Valanciunas already on the roster, the addition of Zion only makes things scary for the opposition in the Western Conference. Knowing that there are handful of young stars who could make things go wild for the team, Zion Williamson’s true leadership can make Pelicans cause a havoc in the Western Conference.

Given that the team is handsomely equipped on either ends of the court, Zion would be having a new-force alongside him before the start of the 2022-23 season to make a difference. Will we finally witness the HULK making his way in the playoffs? Remains to eb seen.
