There are a lot of things that NBA players are known for. Apart from their gameplay on the court, their off-court choices, looks and demeanor are also closely followed by fans. One of the most followed aspects of a player off-court is their fashion sense. What a player wears is largely discussed by fans on social media. While if they are impressed, the players receive a lot of compliments, disapproval of an outfit is met with mockery. Out of the many who failed to impress fans with their looks, the most recent NBA talent was Zion Williamson.
Zion Williamson was recently featured on Kendal Banks’ Twitter post. Banks is an artist/producer based out of New Orleans/Los Angeles. The post was an announcement for a song that the New Orleans Pelicans forward featured on. In the picture posted, Williamson and Banks were seen holding a T-shirt that was printed with the initials ‘OFTM’. The initials stand for the name of the song, which is ‘Only for the Motivated’. In the same post, Williamson was seen wearing an all-black outfit with some silver accessories.
Zion Williamson has been hit with an unfortunate injury plague in his short career. The number one overall pick by the New Orleans Pelicans was limited to just 29 games in the 2022-23 NBA season due to a hamstring issue. Last year, however, he missed the entire season due to a foot injury. His rookie season too, wasn’t free of problems as Williamson suffered a knee injury in 2019, playing just 24 games.
How NBA Twitter reacting to Zion Williamson’s new look?
Although Zion Williamson‘s look was pretty neutral in the posted picture, NBA fans have arrived with some obvious comments. However, many fans appear to be mocking his physical appearance more than the apparel itself. Williamson has been on the bulkier side of the spectrum when it comes to the physical aspect of being an athlete. While many fans trolled him for how his body looked, the young forward looks to have lost weight during his time off.
However, fans are still unimpressed as they believe Williamson appears slimmer as he’s wearing black through and through. A color that is considered to be slimming. Here are some comments:
Many fans are also expressing their discontent with the forward’s absence. While some are saying that his looks don’t matter unless he doesn’t play, some are saying that he looks in shape every off-season only to get injured when the team needs him.
Zion Williamson is currently on a huge $193 million extension that was signed back in June. Moreover, with the New Orleans Pelicans showing flashes of being a formidable team, there is no doubt that they would like Willamson on the court. However, whether or not the forward is back in shape to play next season still remains speculative. The Pelicans’ management and fans can only hope for the best.
