“Get well soon champ”: Twitter sympathizes with Kevin Durant after limping to the locker room during Pelicans showdown
Kevin Durant
Brooklyn Nets star forward Kevin Durant injured his left knee during the second quarter of Saturday’s match against the New Orleans Pelicans and safe to it doesn’t seem to be good news for a team who is challenging their way up to the top of the Eastern Conference. Having already registered 12 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists so far in just 12 minutes of action, KD seems to be not returning for the remainder of the game.
The team called it a left knee sprain, and it happened with just shy of six minutes left in the quarter as Pelicans guard Herb Jones headed to the crate and slammed into Nets guard Bruce Brown, who fell in reverse into Durant, who was remaining behind the play. Durant will go through an MRI on Sunday, as per reports.
Kevin Durant has been producing his best numbers in the 2021-22 season and has been doing it with ease. Especially with Kyrie Irving being available as a part-time player, his absence could be key for the Brooklyn Nets form and position in the Eastern Conference.

NBA Twitter was filled with reactions on Durant getting the injury. The news went viral on Twitter and was filled with getting well soon prayers for the Brooklynn Nets star who appears to have got a serious injury by the way he was limping to the locker room. There were some negative comments from Toxic fans who were delighted about Kevin Durant getting injured, though we don’t have a clue whether it would act as a guarantee for their team winning the championship.
Brooklyn’s leading scorer attempted to remain in the game for a couple of seconds, strolling around, attempting to relax the knee, however, he strolled over to the seat and looked at himself presently. Durant went straight back to the locker room to be looked at.
At halftime, with the Nets leading, 69-41, the team declared Durant would be out for the rest of the game.
The injury dominates what had been a solid return for the previous MVP, who passed on Thursday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder to rest. Shortly on Saturday, Durant had 12 points, three rebounds and two assists prior to leaving the game.
