NBA release shorter 49-games preseason schedule

NBA regular season starts from December 22

The NBA released a shorter 49-game schedule where the teams will be playing in at least 2-4 contests before the 2020-21 season starts. As the teams begins training from next week, the preseason will continue through 19 December. Defending Champions, Los Angeles Lakers are all set to play their 4 preseason contests ahead of the start of 2020-21 season. The Lakers play their rival city team, Clippers twice. One of which will be the first game of the pre-season. Not just Clippers but their remaining 2 fixtures are against Chris Paul’s Phoenix Suns.  

Minnesota, Golden State, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Dallas, Milwaukee, Toronto, Denver, Washington, Utah, Indiana and the Clippers have three preseason games apiece on their schedules. While Brooklyn, Boston, Philadelphia, the Pelicans and the Heat opted for two-game preseasons. 

Pre-Season games start from December 11

Orlando, Atlanta, New York, Detroit, Houston, Chicago, Sacramento, Portland, Charlotte, Phoenix, Memphis, Cleveland and the Lakers are all scheduled to play four preseason contests. Talking about the regular season, it is all set to begin from December 22. 

With all the new formations, starting line-ups and acquisitions. This will be a good opportunity for players to get some game time with the rest of their roster. Lastly, the upcoming season schedule, featuring 72 games for each club, has not yet been released.  

It will be revealed in two segments, the first including games from December 22-March 4 and the next from March 11-May 16 to be released late in the first-half portion of the season.
