The Los Angeles Lakers have currently far beyond retrieving at the moment after having started the season the worst possible way. The amount of criticism they have received from their “loyal” fans has been extremely brutal. Yet, the roster still tries to work it off on the court trying to earn back the respect they originally should have had behind their name. However, another year has been shaved off of LeBron James’ time to win his fifth and possibly last ring.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the decisions the franchise has made of the last few years especially the most recent couple of seasons after trading some of their best assets for ones they assumed were better. Alex Caruso is having a really successful year defensively and DeMar DeRozan who would have made it to the Lakers is among MVP talks. But maybe it could all be worth it in the long run perhaps?

To say it has been hard for LeBron James to cope with the struggling Lakers might be an understatement. The All-Star captain had suffered a few injuries early on in the season but has been carrying the team on his shoulders since December 2021. The King has been criticized heavily for picking Russell Westbrook over a few other better players and also for roster stacking which many NBA followers dislike. Many are starting to believe that the veteran may not resign with the Lakers after entering free agency.

In a post-game interview after being defeated by the Dallas Mavericks and dominated by Luka Doncic, the King had a few words to share with the press saying, “I ride or die with the Lakers faithful. If they boo, I’m with them… if they cheer, I’m with them.” As he would also insinuate during the interview, the player is more than committed to helping this team win. He has repeatedly said that they are mistakes in their game and they are willing to regroup after losses to work towards winning the next.
