“Blame it on him” NBA Fans call out Lakers as ‘SCAPEGOAT’ Russell Westbrook gets furious watching Mavericks slaughter

Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers’ struggle doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon with the players now showing half-hearted effort in the game and not caring about what is happening around them. Westbrook who was criticised all season for being a terrible player has stepped up his performance since the past week, yet, the Lakers haven’t been able to show a lot of changes in the overall results, pointing out that it might not really be Russell’s fault that his team was losing, and all that he was to the team was a mere scapegoat. The Lakers now suffered another terrible loss, this time, to the Dallas Mavericks.

At some point you have to wonder what impact an entire season of bashing from media and fans all around the world has on a player, for Russell Westbrook, it seems as if the thrashing stepped his game up, and it shows in the way he has been performing for the past few weeks. Westbrook whose entire credibility of playing in the Los Angeles Lakers was questioned is now giving his team the numbers they were asking for, and what his team is giving him is complete disappointment.

Players like Carmelo Anthony and Kent Bazemore kept watching as the Mavericks slaughtered the Lakers in their highly anticipated matchup which would’ve been a clash between Doncic and Russell Westbrook.

Westbrook saw his teammates showing zero effort right in front of his eyes and he couldn’t handle it. He seemed pissed of as Carmelo Anthony was tying his shoes mid play while the Mavs were absolutely destroying the Lakers and when Kent Bazemore was grooving to the music and not defending properly when the Mavs were passing around the ball as if they were playing with a bunch of kids. His anger came out when the team called a timeout and it still didn’t seem to have an impact on all the other players in the squad who knew they could blame the ideal scapegoat Westbrook for all of their trash plays.

The last thing Lakers want from their squad is for them to put in half-hearted efforts in the game. A team which has already been struggling throughout the year, somehow barely managing to keep up with the rest of the teams in the league doesn’t want its players to not care about their matches. But that is exactly what happened in the Lakers game vs the Mavs, where the former ended up losing by an 18-point margin, following which they are now out of the play-ins.

Russell Westbrook who has been the scapegoat for the Lakers fanbase and the entire NBA throughout the year didn’t really like it when players like Kent Bazemore and Carmelo Anthony weren’t putting all of their efforts in the game, and in fact it seemed as if they didn’t really care about what was happening around them. At one point when Anthony had the ball to himself inside the paint, he failed to score multiple times and ended up hitting the rim from below and missed the easiest possible chance.

On one of the next plays, Anthony was tying his shoes mid play while the rest of his teammates were struggling to compete against the Mavs and were getting a mockery made out of themselves.

Even Kent Bazemore seemed as if he couldn’t care less about how the Mavs were slaughtering his team, and he seemed to be grooving to the music being played at one point and in another play, he didn’t even care to defend the ball and ended up conceding a 2-pointer. Russell Westbrook who has had to face the wrath of the entire world for no reason at all seemed pissed of at his teammates during the timeout, highlighting his disappointment with them.
