Russell Westbrook still believes the Lakers’ can improve their inconsistent record with a healthy LeBron James

Russell Westbrook, LeBron James and Anthony Davis the Big three of Los Angeles Lakers who go by the name of 360⁰ haven’t really lived by the expectations they drew on paper. The team is consistently inconsistent while using the Head coach and Russell Westbrook the primary guard as the scapegoat. Russell so far has been the most criticized player in the league for his turnovers, shooting slumps and low Basketball IQ plays where he ends up turning the ball over which gives away free points.

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently ranked as the ninth seed in the western conference with the record of 24 wins and 27 losses at .471 as they maintain a losing streak of three games. Recently, the Lakers faced the Atlanta Hawks and after a closely contested and head-to-head match-up, the game favored the Hawks. As the team was less efficient and had chemistry issues while missing their leader LeBron James due to a knee injury.

LeBron James has been the carrier for the team as even in the year 19 his prime continues as he steps up with MVP calibre performances every night he suits up to play. But the supporting cast always fails to deliver and the record remains a losing one. After the game against the Hawks where the fourth quarter took it away, Russell Westbrook in the post-game interview was quite honest about the Lakers’ ongoing struggles and LeBron James’ injury.

Russell Westbrook on Lakers’ improving at home with a healthy LeBron James

In the post-game, Russell Westbrook spoke about Anthony Davis’s return and mentioned that the road trip was an unsuccessful one. Russell was also very optimistic regarding the Lakers’ inconsistent run and the record as he quoted: “It was not a successful trip for us. But we ready to go back home and try to take care of business there.” The Lakers will now play teams like the Warriors, Bucks and Clippers at Crypto.com Arena having a crowd advantage. As the city and fans want the team to change it all and win the championship this year.

Further talking about LeBron James’ injury and having a healthy king back, Russell Westbrook said: “He knows his body better than anyone else. The biggest thing is his health, making sure that he’s healthy. I know he wants to be back on the floor but his health is most important.” Russell knows the importance of a healthy LeBron James as it isn’t hard for Bron to change the record and especially the last two match-ups would have been a win if LeBron James was a part of it.

The Los Angeles Lakers still haven’t been able to use their full potential as injuries and COVID-19 protocols just keep their players side-lined. The factor of age and pace is also been hitting the team lately as they required more mobility while Anthony Davis their big man was sidelined due to an MCL sprain. If the Lakers want to make it to the postseason health is really very important for the team as they are a playoff team where the game runs slow and players get enough time for rehabilitation. With the radar being hot and on and the trade deadline nearing we may also find many players shipped across the league in search of the team getting better to win more games.
