The Lakers were finally thrown out of the play-offs contention by the Western Conference Leaders, Phoenix Suns with a 11-point margin as the Lakers lost their 7th straight match, bringing an end to their terrible season.

In the month of March, on the NBA on TNT show, Shaquille O’Neal suggested that the Lakers wouldn’t even make it to the play-ins. Hearing which Ernie argued that saying they wont make it to the play-offs sounds valid to some extent but not even the play-ins is a bit too much, to which Kenny gave a nod of approval, but Charles Barkley stuck to Shaq’s opinion and agreed that the Lakers wouldn’t be able to do the same. At the end, the prediction came true and the Lakers are now out of play-ins contention, bringing an end to their play-offs aspirations and even the play-ins aspirations.
