As the Israel – Palestine conflict rages on, many sporting activities have been either paused or indefinitely suspended. On the other hand, lots of people continue to live in fear. However, former NBA star Patrick Beverley has opened up about his own experiences in the Middle Eastern country lately.

On his self-titled podcast, Patrick Beverley claimed that he is enjoying his best life in Israel despite the war. The Hapoel Tel Aviv player also assured the people worried about his safety, that he’s doing quite okay.

According to him, “Words can’t describe it”, making a bold statement that the security situation being reported, is quite different from his case. He also talked about the nice weather in Tel Aviv and how the food is great over there. The defender further revealed that since he left the NBA to move to Israel, the people have shown him immense love.

Patrick Beverley also recently mentioned getting LeBron James-like treatment in Israel, while talking about his growing popularity overseas. The 36-year-old last played in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks last season. Throughout his time in the NBA, Beverley’s aggressive play style and defensive presence made him a formidable force on the court.

Patrick Beverley antagonized the NBA with his defending game. He earned quite a reputation as one of the players constantly engaging in trash talk and flagrant fouls during games. Throughout his 12-season-long career, Beverley was involved in altercations with many NBA stars including Chris Paul and Kevin Durant.

The point guard further made headlines after pushing DeAndre Ayton during a game between the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers. The situation escalated and Beverley was then slapped with a three-game suspension. In his final season in the league, Beverley played for the Milwaukee Bucks where he averaged 6.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.

During that final season with the Bucks, Beverley again lost his cool and had a heated altercation with a fan. The situation got heated and he launched the ball at the fan. As a result, he faced great backlash from the basketball world for that act, after which he announced his departure from the league.
