NBA stars and Celtics owner brings NBA trophy to Michael Rubin's White Party
Fanatics owner and billionaire Michael Rubin hosts an annual party in Bridgehampton, New York, on the 4th of July. Generally, the who’s who of the sporting world, Hollywood, social media stars, and music artists attend. NBA stardom featured Kevin Durant and the Larry O’Brien trophy making a special appearance.
The rules are simple for this party: respond to invitations, then turn up and wear all white. Kevin Durant and his Phoenix Suns teammate Devin Booker turned up in white t-shirts. On the other hand, James Harden wore a white jacket. They were joined by Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Tyrese Haliburton, Paulo Banchero, and others.
Despite the star-studded lineup from the Basketball world, the biggest surprise was Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck. He and his wife turned up at the party with the Larry O’Brien trophy in hand. The gold trophy was the only item in the hands of anyone that was not white in color.
Michael Rubin knows how to throw a party. This one, being special, does not serve alcohol, ensuring that one does not need alcohol to have a great time with everyone. The NBA stars did have a great time as they mingled with stars of other sports and celebrities before some of them started Team USA training.
Kevin Durant and Olympics teammates heading off from party to practice
Among the NBA superstars present, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Tyrese Haliburton were a part of the final 12 who made the Paris Olympics roster. This party was the last time they got to enjoy some time off from basketball. The trio made their way to Las Vegas from the party as the scrimmages for Team USA would begin tomorrow.
The trio will meet up with the likes of LeBron James and Stephen Curry as they look to bring the respect back for the USA as the leading nation in basketball. Durant is a Team USA regular; this will be his 4th Olympics. Therefore, he has a chance to create history as the player to wear 4 Olympic gold medals for the Team USA Men’s basketball team.
The team will start practice tomorrow with scrimmage games scheduled. They will then take part in friendlies in Las Vegas before jettisoning abroad for further friendlies. If they win the gold, they can come back and hold parties of their own.
