“The Celtics are Broke”- Kendrick Perkins drops truth bomb on Boston Celtics Squad after Humiliating Loss against Knicks
Jayson Tatum and Kendrick Perkins
Kendrick Perkins is not the one to shy away from showing you the real mirror. He gives the teams the brutal reality checks that are the most needed if they wish to perform better in this league and seems like the recipient of this harsh criticism this time is the Boston Celtics.
The Boston Celtics were finally expecting a consistent turnover after they managed to turn the 3 game losing streaks to 2 consecutive wins. But the ecstasy only lasted for some time as they back-to-back fell short to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night and the New York Knicks on Thursday night.
Jaylen Brown dropped a 30 pointer game against the Spurs but missed the clutch layup that gave the Spurs the straightaway victory over the Celtics.
It is like the Boston Celtics continue to find new ways to lose their game. Distorted passes, collapse especially in the 4th quarter when they seem to be going strong but they just tank, and blowing leads have been checked on the Celtics ‘how to lose list.’ We thought the LA Lakers had the best record for blowing out the lead Celtics are not so far.

Kendrick Perkins- “The Celtics are broken right now”
On the recent episode of NBC Sports’ Post Game Live, Chris Forsberg, Amina Smith, and Kendrick Perkins all sat down and talked through what actually happened in Boston Celtics vs New York Knicks.
The Celtics traveled to the Madison Square Garden on Thursday after facing a horrible defeat against the Spurs in a home game the night before. The Celtics didn’t know they would face yet another humiliating loss on their road game.
The Celtics and the Knicks were head-to-head till the end of the 3rd quarter but the 4th quarter is where the situation took the worst turn for the Celtics. The Knicks were down 7 points during the end of the third quarter but won the math with a point differential of 3 by 108-105. And, Perkins isn’t happy with how the Celtics just let go of the lead; especially the match.
“When you look at this Celtics team right now, I think the word is ‘broken,” Perkins said. “When the Knicks made that run in the third quarter, I said to myself ‘once they cut it to seven [points] going into the fourth, it’s about to be over.”
Kendrick further addressed how full of potential is Celtics yet they continue to give disappointing performances.
He added, “The thing that bothers me the most is when you look at the Celtics personnel on the perimeter…you have all these guys that have size and athleticism and are really good on the defensive side of things, and yet, you let Evan Fournier go out there tonight and look like [former Knicks great] Allan Houston. He’s great moving off the ball, but he’s not 41 points great.”
This was Celtics are currently 11th in the Eastern Conference with a score of 12-21 and will host the New York Knicks next at the TD Garden. The fans could only hope that the Celtics will neutralize this humiliating loss with an amazing win on Saturday.
