Grizzlies, who stand at the 3rd position in the Western Conference added another win to their record this season, by defeating the New York Knicks by a comfortable 120-108 margin, further worsening the New York Knicks’ record to 24-28. Though, something more unusual happened in the match, something involving the stats, and probably creating a buzzing topic for NBA Conspiracy theorists, which might also include the man Desmond Bane himself!

Jaren Jackson Jr. led the way for the Grizzlies, putting up 26 points on the board, followed by JA Morant who scored 23 points, but in some way or the other, these weren’t the most impressive stats in the match, something more impressive happened in the background, which will probably baffle you, like it has already done to others.

What a wild tale of 2s, like we said, as if he already knew! With a lot many people calling the NBA scripted after such an unusual happening, Desmond Bane also surprised himself when he saw himself trending on social media, and specifically when he realised what he was trending for.

After their OT loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Grizzlies showed a much better overall performance at the MSG, taking a comfortable win over the Knicks. Let’s have a closer look at the match between both the teams.
Grizzlies vs Knicks, 120-108
The Memphis Grizzlies had a comfortable win over the New York Knicks, improving their own record to a 36-18 and keeping them placed on the 3rd position in the Western Conference, right behind Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors.
Jaren Jackson Jr. and JA Morant stepped up for the Grizzlies, scoring 26 points and 23 points respectively, but what actually went viral were the stats put up by Bane, which we already discussed.
For the Knicks, Evan Fournier led the way, scoring 30 points, 2 assists and 5 rebounds, followed by RJ Barret who scored 23 points, 1 assist and 4 rebounds, but due to the lack of a combined effort by the team overall, the fell short of victory, losing to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Morant who put up his usual highlight plays felt he performed terribly and stated the match to be one of his worst performances, saying, “I felt like I played terrible, If you asked me that was probably one of the worst games I played in my career.”

Knicks’ coach Tom Thibodeau testified in favour of Morant’s comments, stating he felt that the Knicks had defended well against Morant and Bane, following which Jackson Jr. unfortunately got loose and probably turned the match in favour of Knicks, while being supported by Williams and Melton.
Even though Morant had his 30-point per match streak broken, the Grizzlies managed to bag another victory post their OT loss to the 76ers in the previous match.
