While in a conversation with Stephen A Smith, Kendrick Perkins had to point out multiple times that Stephen A Smith was trippin’, and was delusional about the Lakers’ comeback chances against the best in the Western Conference.
Kendrick Perkins was reminding him that the Lakers wouldn’t win against teams like Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors or even the Memphis Grizzlies even if Anthony Davis performs the way he performed against the Clippers, or if LeBron James is in his peak shape and form like he has been against different teams in the past few weeks.
Perkins wasn’t going to concede to any argument which stated that the Lakers would have a comeback to win against the best in the western conference, highlighting major doubts that he had regarding the team or even the commendable post-injury performance by Anthony Davis who in some way brought out the hopes of the Lakers fans, including Stephen A Smith.

Kendrick Perkins was having none of the Lakers comeback drama, which was very evident trough his answer or even his subtle expressions which gave strong signals of his hate towards the expectations people have with Lakers even after a season this terrible.
In order to justify his views towards the Lakers’ comeback attempt while answering Stephen A Smith’s question, Perkins said “Right now you’re trippin’, lemme tell you why you’re tripping… I understand Anthony Davis playing phenomenal basketball… but that’s what happens when you come back from an injury, you play with a different type of passion, you play with a different type of energy,”
Further adding to which he had very strong comments to make about the Lakers, when he said” … but the fact of the matter is this, the Lakers still stink… When it comes down to the Western Conference, there are 3 teams for sure, that I know that they [Lakers] can’t beat in a 7-game series even with a healthy LeBron James”

Perkins also went on to point out the teams who he thought the Lakers in no way would beat, The Warriors, the Grizzlies and the Suns. Therefore, he asked no one to come and talk to him about the Lakers’ comeback with the Anthony Davis back in form arguments, or the LeBron James’ performance argument. Reiterating again, that the “Lakers still stink” and that the comeback news is all drama, while saying, “stay of the wheel”, in Stephen A Smith’s words.
Clippers vs Lakers, 111-110
The Clippers took a 1-point small margin victory in a close clash against the Los Angeles Lakers, worsening their record to 25-28 this season, also further narrowing their chances of getting into the playoffs.
Marcus Morris Sr. Led the way for the clippers with 29 points, followed by Reggie Jackson with 25 points and Serge Ibaka with 20 points.
For the Lakers, Anthony Davis led the way with a commendable comeback performance, scoring 30 points, 2 assists and 17 rebounds, followed by Malik Monk who scored 21 points with 7 rebounds and 7 assists.
With four lead changes in the final 30 seconds, and the Clippers taking the dub with a bucket by Jackson, the match remained close throughout.
With Anthony Davis seemingly frustrated over the Lakers’ close loss to the Clippers who have had their 3rd victory since 11th Jan, the Lakers have now lost the last 4 out of their 5 matches, making it more and more difficult for the lakers to make it to the playoffs, and proving Kendrick Perkins right to some extent.
