LeBron James has come out to openly support LA Lakers partner Russell Westbrook. The point guard put in one more dull shooting execution, going 2-of-14 (14.3%) from the field for his eight points as the Lakers lost 116-125 to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night. Making them slip in back-to-back after 5-game winning streak.

It was the third consecutive game Westbrook has scored in single-digit points. But this time some decided to call out the former MVP for his lacklustre play.

James, notwithstanding, doesn’t seem, by all accounts, to be annoyed by Westbrook’s shooting droop. He told the media after the Lakers lost how Westbrook expected to get once more into a decent shooting groove.

“Just keep working. Obviously, he’s putting in the work and trust the work that you put into it. He’s getting some really good looks, but they’re just not going down for him.

When inquired as to whether Westbrook’s confidence was impacted by his helpless shooting form or regardless of whether he was baffled, James answered:

“We’re all basketball players, NBA players. Everyone gets frustrated when they go through a slump. That’s natural

Besides Westbrook’s battles from the field, LeBron James himself didn’t have an extraordinary shooting night.

The 37-year-old hotshot shot only 13-of-29 (44.8%) from the field and 3-of-12 (25.0%) from long-range as the LA Lakers were outscored 49-64 in the second half of the challenge by Sacramento.

The silver lining for James, however, was that notwithstanding his inefficient shooting execution, the 19-year association veteran actually figured out how to set up 34 points on Wednesday night. It was his nineteenth 30-point round of the period, the most by any NBA player in the 2021-22 season.

James has been in staggering structure for the LA Lakers throughout the most recent three weeks as his 34-point night against Sacramento was his eleventh 30-point trip in his last 12 games.

The awful news, nonetheless, for Lakers fans is that the team doesn’t really win when LeBron goes for at least 30 places. Counting this evening’s loss against the Sacramento Kings, the Lakers have a 10-9 record in general when James scores something like 30 points. The Lakers have a chance to bounce back against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
