NBA Trade Rumor: Trevor Ariza to Los Angeles Lakers?
After a very impactful 2020-21 off-season, will the Los Angeles Lakers be able to lure in Trevor Ariza as well? The LA Lakers do not want to leave any stone unturned in defending their championship. They have been the primary winners in this off season, having signed Dennis Schröder, Montrezl Harrell, Marc Gasol and Wesley Matthews. It seems like now they want to bring back their former member Ariza back with Lebron and AD.
Ariza was an integral part of the Lakers’ 2008-09 triumph. He played all 23 games, averaging 11 points and 2 assists. Even his shooting from behind the arc had an accuracy of more than 47%. But since then, it was a hefty ride for Ariza, he went from team to team trying to find his ultimate form. His stints with the Kings, Rockets and Wizards have all gone in vain.
Los Angeles Lakers looking to bring back Trevor Ariza?
For Ariza, he is at that stage in his career where he can provide valuable veteran experience and championship pedigree to any team. Given the Thunders’ current rebuilding plans, keeping hold of Ariza is not in their best interest. Yet, there will be other NBA teams that can bring him in.
To everybody’s surprise, Ariza joined the Portland TrailBlazers last season. But wasn’t a part of team when the season started in the Bio-bubble. This year again to everyone’s surprise he joined the Oklahoma City Thunder. It appears as though the Los Angeles Lakers want to bring the veteran player back into the fold. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Lakers are trying to find a way to bring back the former NBA champion. He wrote, “The Lakers are monitoring Oklahoma City’s Trevor Ariza should he become available, sources say. As of now, both Ariza and George Hill are expected to begin the season on the Thunder roster. There is also interest in Hill’s services around the league.”
It seems like an unlikely affair that Ariza could be acquired by the Lakers. But this off-season has been full of surprises. So, are we in for another?
