Kemba Walker was drafted in 2011 with the 11th overall pick by the CharlotteHornets and went on to play for them for eight years. Then he was traded to the Boston Celtics for two seasons and finally came to New York Knicks last summer. He was finally home, the place where he grew up but things aren’t the same.

The New York Knicks started off great this season but have entered a bumpy path. They are currently 11-9 in the league. Not bad for some teams but bad for a team that wants to win.

Knicks’ coach Tom Thibodeau removed Kemba Walker from the team’s rotation. On Monday, November 29th, Thibodeau told the reporters he is removing Kemba from the starting line as well as the whole rotation that will be in effect from Today’s showdown against the Brooklyn Nets.

Thibodeau said, “It’s a tough decision to make, but you always have to do what you think is best for the team. I view Kemba as a starter, and so it’d be tough to play three small guards together. I gave it consideration, and I’ve got great respect for who Kemba is as a person and all he’s accomplished in this league.”

He concluded by saying that, “But I have to do what I think is best for the team.”

As per INSIDER, Kemba’s removal from the roster is shocking but can be proven highly effective for the team. Walker is averaging the lowest scores and not just points but rebounds and assists. With 11.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists Kemba walker has become a liability for the Knicks.

The Walker trade won’t benefit the Knicks much right now and they aren’t expecting a lot too.

As per Bleachers report, Walker’s value has the potential to change as the Knicks get closer to the Feb. 10 trade deadline and teams get more desperate to add a veteran who, despite his defensive shortcomings, has shown he can still make shots, albeit in a more limited capacity.

The New York Knicks are in 7th place in the Eastern Conference when once they were leading it. The roster hasn’t just worked out for the Knicks since this season began. So, the coach decided to take some extreme measures to rebuild the crumbling team.
