Basketball is always known to be a heated sport, especially in the States wherein young college players have the chance of making a big name for themselves since early age. Given that there is always one team which comes out on top, tension always seems to be high in the sport which wasn’t taken-in well by one particular player who decided to turn the handshake line of a high school basketball Nevada vs Carlisle game into a punching contest, making hoop fans shocked all around the globe.
To those who are not aware, a brutal series of sucker punches was thrown in the handshake line after a high school basketball game in Iowa, leading to a fight between the two teams. After the conclusion of a Nevada vs Carlisle game, a Wildcats player squared up and threw two punches at a Nevada opponent, hitting him in the stomach and face, before being wrestled to the ground. Players from both teams then tried to break up the fight. But it seems like the brutality of the scene made the victim lose a couple of his teeth as well. Reportedly the game ended 72-47 in the favor of the former team.

Nevada vs Carlisle turns into punching contest
According to the Des Moines Register, there has as of yet been “no indication” as to the motive for the fight. The victim had a “serious enough concussion to render him unconscious,” and also needed four stitches, according to a criminal complaint.
“It’s a very unfortunate situation,” Nevada superintendent told TMZ Sports. “I’m happy they deescalated it. I thought our coaches and staff handled it well and got everyone out of there without it worsening.”
