NC State vs UConn

UConn vs NC State was always going to be a tough encounter as both teams looked destined to make their way into the Final Four. But a double overtime-thriller saw the legend of Paige Bueckers on display for the Huskies as she managed to register 15 out of her 27 points after regulation. As a result of which, the sensational sophomore ensured his team’s berth in the Final Four for the 14th straight time.

However, Paige Bueckers, who grew up just 10 miles outside the site of the Final Four managed to score the first five point to lift her team’s morale in stamping their bid for the ultimate showdown. Her performance for UConn was deemed even more fantastic, knowing the fact, that she just returned last month from a knee injury which had ruled her out for 19 straight games.

Jakia Brown-Turner – who had forced the second overtime on a 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds left in the first extra period. After which made a layup to get the Wolfpack within two, but Williams converted a layup off the inbounds to seal the win. UConn marquee Bueckers wasn’t able to find her best form before this showdown against the NC State. But perhaps it is safe to say that her extraordinary calmness managed to ease her team’s way into the 14th straight Final Four.

To those who are not aware, this is just the 7th multi-OT game in NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship history and the 1st multi-OT Regional Final game.

“Two days ago I said, ‘Win or go home,’ but we won and I’m still going home,” said Bueckers as quoted by Wcvb.com. “This is crazy. I’m just so excited no matter the location, no matter where it is.”
