“Until you stomp me out, cut my head off, bury me 12 feet under, we have a chance”: LeBron James seems utterly focused on getting the Lakers to the 2022 NBA playoffs

“Until you stomp me out, cut my head off, bury me 12 feet under, we have a chance”: LeBron James seems utterly focused on getting the Lakers to the 2022 NBA playoffs

LeBron James

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have become synonymous as the team and the player get an equal share of praise when they win and an equal share of criticism when they lose, and therefore, LeBron James tends to remain the marquee player for the Los Angeles Lakers no matter what happens as he is the one, they can perennially rely on. Well now what also becomes important to notice is that LeBron James’ confidence becomes the confidence of the Lakers and therefore, the more confident LeBron is, higher the chances of Lakers getting into the playoffs.

The Los Angeles Lakers being led by LeBron James have struggled throughout the season and haven’t been able to make a difference in their playing style despite losing matches after matches, and most of them being terrible losses, which should’ve been “flushed out”, as stated by Lakers’ coach Frank Vogel, but that didn’t really happen as the Lakers lost yet another match, and this time it was to the Dallas Mavericks, being led by Luka Doncic.

LeBron James in an encounter off camera made statements which highlight the kind of mentality the player has and therefore, his confidence that seemed to be tearing the roof is a good sign for the Los Angeles Lakers who currently lack form, enthusiasm, pride or any other thing that a sports team should have, and specially a team like the Lakers that carries a legacy around its name.

Let us now take a deeper dive into this incident and take a look at what LeBron had to say which displayed his confidence and highlighted that the player still has high hopes of getting into the playoffs with a team which most of the people say, is a “quitter.”

The Lakers despite losing the last 14 of their 20 matches have some positives to take out from their terrible performance that they have had in the past few months and in fact, their entire season. We did say the same thing when Westbrook came out and reiterated his stance that it would be 0-0 when they get into the playoffs but at this point it seems impossible for them to get into the playoffs as well, and LeBron has promised to do just that.

LeBron James had multiple things to say in retrospect to their match against the Mavericks which the Lakers lost, and in regards to making plays said, “Some of them I was able to get us back in the game, some of them wasn’t good basketball” and then went on to say that he did a few things to support Russell Westbrook in the game and he feels those things could work out well for them.

While talking about his feelings for the Lakers and the fans, LeBron said, “I ride or die with Lakers faithful. If they boo, I’m with em. They cheer, I’m with em” and followed it up with the confidence that he had in his team, as he said, “Until you stomp me out, cut my head off, bury me 12 feet under, we have a chance” which precisely highlights the mentality the Lakers’ lead is carrying in order to take them to the playoffs and then hopefully get their hands at the championship.

Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James failed in their effort to win a game against the Mavericks as they succumbed to the Luka magic and weren’t able to create any magic of their own in order to push through the Mavs’ wall.

LeBron James led the way for the Lakers with 26 points and was followed by Carmelo Anthony who scored 20 points and then Malik Monk who scored 17.

Luka Doncic led the way for the Mavs with 25 points and was followed by Jalen Brunson who scored 22 and Dorian-Finney Smith who scored 16 points.
