The situation between Russia and Ukraine has been taking new turns every single day. With one country looking to dismantle the other, human lives has been put on stake every single moment. In the midst of Ukrainian finding shelters in other countries, NBA team Utah Jazz has come out to support the victims as well.  

To be precise, the Utah Jazz organization is stepping up to help the Ukrainian people amid Russian invasion. The Western Conference giants have partnered along with Airbnb.org, which is a non-profit devoted to provide shelters to those in dire need of it. With over 2 million people being evacuated from their home country since February 24, the problem seems to be growing every single day, and there is nothing better than to see, NBA teams coming out to support.

Utah Jazz all set to help out Ukrainian refugees 

Utah Jazz Executive chairman and co-owner Ryan Smith spoke about the decision to help out, saying, as per TMZ, “Connection and community have never been more important than it is today.”

“Millions of people have been forced to leave behind their entire lives in Ukraine. Airbnb.org is connecting host families with refugees in need, creating safe havens when so many communities are being torn apart.” 

He added, “And we can’t stop there. I encourage every organization to support Airbnb.org’s important initiative, to magnify their impact and house enough refugees to fill their arenas or workplaces.”

Airbnb co-founder and chairman of Airbnb.org, Joe Gebbia, was extremely thankful for the commitment from the team, stating, “I cannot begin to express my thanks to the Utah Jazz Foundation for their support of Airbnb.org’s work.” 

“This incredible commitment will play a meaningful role in helping us meet our goal of providing free, temporary housing to 100,000 refugees fleeing Ukraine – offering not only a roof over their heads, but also a safe place to gather and regroup.” 

With the Russian army forcing many citizens to fly out of country for safety reasons, people all around the world are keen to see the Ukrainian in comfort, one way or the other.
