The main reason why Green didn’t play due to reports is because of a pre-game injury on the left calve he got during the warmup time. After the game, Kerr interacted and told everyone about Draymond’s injury which prevented him from playing such a great game.

“He was devastated,” Kerr said. “He was looking forward to this as much as anyone.” Kerr said they hatched late plan to allow Draymond to start game for Klay return.– Kerr after the game.

The coach also said that Green felt a “twinge” on his left leg during the warmups. It was the collective decision of the team management and Kerr to not allow Green to not play the game as they couldn’t risk having an injured player again.
