Warriors star Klay Thompson’s personal call-out after ugly showing vs Luka Doncic

Klay Thompson
The Golden State Warriors are the biggest definition of a “come back” after being in the slumps for two whole seasons after losing core members of the team. The last time we witnessed this team asserting their dominance was during the 2018-19 season when they reached the NBA finals and lost to injuries. That was when it all started to go downhill. Kevin Durant left the team to join the Brooklyn Nets, Klay Thompson went down with an Achilles injury and a few other important role players decided to explore their options.

This season they are the favorites to win the title out of the Western Conference seated at the second position with a record of 43 wins and 12 losses. During the beginning of the season, Stephen Curry singled handily brought the teams up from the ruins. As the regular season is about to conclude, the Dubs have found themselves stuck in a rut after losing three games in a row. This is the longest losing streak that they have faced this season and things seem a little concerning.
Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors Game Recap

The Dallas Mavericks emerged as the winners over the Warriors in a battle that had them leading the scoreboard for a good amount of time. The Mavericks shot 52.9% from the field as Luka Doncic put on another spectacular performance of 41 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. Spencer Dinwiddie had a good 17 points in 29 minutes coming off the bench followed by 18 points from Dorian Finney-Smith.

For the Warriors, Stephen Curry had another mediocre night on scoring finishing the game with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists shooting 8 of 15 from the field. Klay Thompson returned after being out of two games finishing with 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Thompson did not fare well in shooting after missing 11 of his 17 attempts from the field. However, he has exceeded all expectations coming back after a 941-day hiatus due to injuries.
Klay Thompson disappointed at the outcome of the Warriors-Mavericks game

The three-time NBA champion is known to be one of the best three-point shooters in NBA history. His silky smooth jump shot can drain the ball in from any point of the court and when he gets a rhythm, there is no stopping Klay Thompson. However, while he played against the Mavericks, he was not able to convert the ball as consistently as he would generally.
“I gotta made some shots. I can’t be airballing, shooting off the side of the backboard. I gotta be better, It’s on me. I did not play well tonight,” said Thompson admitting that he was the biggest reason why the Warriors lost their third game straight. If he had made most of his shots, the Warriors would have had a better outcome on offense. Klay has been a defensive asset for the team in the absence of Draymond Green who is expected to make a return soon. Thompson averages 17.1 points with 3.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game this season.
