Stephen Curry struggled to get D1 scholarship during his High School days

Stephen Curry has created his legacy in the NBA when he surpassed Ray Allen and became the greatest basketball shooter of all time. Currently, he is the leader of the Warriors franchise and has led them to two NBA championships. If the Warriors are a contender to win the champion this season there is no doubt that two times MVP is making them the path for the glory.

However, the popularity and acknowledgment he enjoys today were not part of his initial days of struggle to become an NBA player. Unlike many stars like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant was not the very talked high schooler among the NBA community. In fact, during his last year of high school, he didn’t even receive a D1 scholarship (except Davidson) to play basketball at the collegiate level.

The most obvious issue that basketball-playing kids are facing is that they are judged on their current performance without looking at their future potential. The comparison between the kids is creating unhealthy competition among the sports community. These are the major flaws that the media’s intervention has created for their personal interest.

Recently, Stephen Curry made his appearance on the episode of ‘Knuckleheads with Q and D, Quentin Richardson addressed the same issue of nowadays media is judging the kids and comparing them with each other and explained why this comparison is not worthy enough to make the decision of their future. “You got to own your journey. God gives you what’s for you and you got to walk in that,” he added.
