“We got out b**t whooped, they kicked our a**”: Lakers youngster Stanley Johnson gets brutally honest after backbreaking loss against Mavericks

Stanley Johnson - Lakers vs Mavericks
Who would’ve thought that the Los Angeles Lakers would be thrown out of the postseason berths with just over 5 games remaining for each team in the regular season. With both LeBron James and Anthony Davis sitting out against the Dallas Mavericks, the home team stamped their authority on the purple and gold army, who lacked any inspiration. Which resulted in Stanley Johnson making some honest admissions.

With the loss the Lakers have now slipped behind the San Antonio Spurs, in the 11th seed of the Western Conference. Having conceded more than 80 points in the first half, the Lakers trailed by more than 20 points throughout the majority of the game. Surprisingly, the 82 points Mavericks thumped against Stanley Johnson’s Lakers, were the second-most points the Lakers have allowed in a first half in franchise history.

Stanley Johnson gives scathing review on Lakers spine-shaking loss to Mavericks
The Los Angeles Lakers made a season-high 20 three-point shots against the Lakers while shooting 52.0% from the field. Moreover, Dallas Mavericks also outscored the Lakers 12-2 in fastbreak points, even as the purple-and-gold franchise shot 45.0% from the floor and 27.3% from deep.
Commenting on his team’s annihilation by the Mavericks, Stanley Johnson was completely frank in his assessment of the game.

The Lakers forward, who started his 23rd game of the season and had 16 points versus the Mavericks, said, “We got our b**t whooped. Straight up. … They kicked our a**.”
The identical 31-44 record makes Lakers and Spurs stand alongside one another. Given that the Pelicans are just 1-win ahead of these two teams, the battle for the last spot in the play-in tournament has got even more interesting. The interesting part to note, is the schedule of games left for purple and gold in the regular season. They are yet to face the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors. Will we witness LeBron James, Anthony Davis in the postseason? Time will unravel all answers.
