“We have never had a guy walk this planet like him” Tim Legler emphasizes why Kevin Durant is the best offensive player in NBA
Jay Williams, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and Tim Legler
Tim Legler and Jay Williams are both former NBA players who now in retirement are signed up with ESPN as analysts to stick around the game and the things going in the league. Recently, they made it to the headlines as they discussed the best offensive player in National Basketball Association. It was a complete debate between them as Jay Williams has Kyrie Irving topping his list while Tim Legler backed up Kevin Durant as the greatest offensive player ever. Both the stars in the debate play for Brooklyn Nets and are a deadly duo as they dominate the league so that’s a good big point for the franchise as they have two of the best talents the league has ever seen.
Kyrie Irving has been on a rollercoaster since the season started for his decision of not getting vaccinated and then not being allowed to play games at the home arena Barclays Center. But not things are good and he is a full-time player destroying the league with his godlike handles and high IQ plays with great scoring ability. Kevin Durant though has always been a part of the best offensive player debate as he has a bag deep enough to carry any team in any series single-handedly. Being a seven-footer he moves like a guard and shoots with great efficiency while dominating the other end from every zone on the court.
Both the players have an edge over each other in different conversations. So the debate between Tim Legler and Jay Williams just added more into it. It also makes the Brooklyn Nets a more tough and serious contender as they have both the offensive beasts paired up in their roster.

Tim Legler on Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving as the best offensive players
Jay Williams started it off by choosing Kyrie Irving and quoted: “I think Kyrie Irving is the best offensive player we have in the game of basketball. I’m not saying he’s the most efficient. As a guard who’s studied this game, his difficulty in shot-making, I have never seen somebody be able to do what he’s been able to do with the ball like this before. Ever.” Further, partially agreeing with Williams’ take Tim Legler opting in for Kevin Durant quoted: “I’m gonna go with the guy that possesses the greatest combination in one body of leg, handle and shooting ability. Because we’ve never had a guy walk this planet like Kevin Durant. With the length at 6-11, the pure stroke and then handles the ball like a two-guard.”
Further Tim Legler even appreciated Kevin Durant more for his great offensive skillset and quoted: “No one player has ever possessed all three of those things. At no point is there a win against Kevin Durant defensively. And that’s why I think he’s the best offensive player. This guy has an answer for everything.” The analyst was very right for Kevin Durant as he really is a great offensive player and probably the greatest scorer the league has ever seen. Kyrie Irving though on the other hand is too a part of that list but ranks below KD as per what many around the league think and believe.
