“We just haven’t had enough chemistry” LeBron James believes Lakers need more than Anthony Davis’ return to be a better team

LeBron James and Anthony Davis

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers were synonymous this entire season, as the player carried his entire team to where they are right now, and he did that singlehandedly, without any support from his teammates, which boasts names bigger than anyone could imagine, and therefore, gives itself the tag of a “super-team”. Well, since the past few months, the Lakers have been struggling to stay afloat, and the only thing between them and their approaching end was LeBron James, who now seems to be quitting on his team, and this season. The signs are setting in, and the team is closer to their end this season.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis

LeBron James was the only factor keeping the hopes of the Los Angeles Lakers alive as the player had the mantle on his shoulders to take his team to much needed dubs, and fulfil the duties of his teammates, who have been nothing but idle and inconsistent in their efforts to push their team forward. For a team that boasts names like Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony and Malik Monk finally joined by James, just one player carrying them forward throughout the season isn’t the best of options, yet, that is what has happened in the entirety this time.

With the blame shifting from a player, to the squad, to the coach, to the front office to even the management, the Lakers have nothing to bank on, not even their marquee player at this point, as statements made by James indicate that he finally seems to be giving up on the team and their season, which has been a rollercoaster filled with downs and no ups. James even managed to give us all some hope after the All-Star break when the Lakers went 2-6 and James scored 50+ points in both of those matches that the team won, signaling that it could be the sign of their comeback, but alas, it wasn’t.

The season is setting just like the sun and LeBron finds himself in the middle of a swamp of trash that he didn’t create, he was a player who gave his all out in an effort to take his team forward, and even that process now seems to be coming to a halt with a statement given by James, which indicates that the player has finally given up on his team and has no hopes left for the season.

LeBron James stated that the return of Anthony Davis would be a good sign for the team and would definitely heal or put band-aid on certain things, but he also went on to further highlight that his return wouldn’t be a solution to all of the Lakers’ problems, which at this point are massive. A team with such a legacy now faces a shortage of grit and will as the only player who was carrying them all on his shoulder now seems to be giving up on his aspirations.

James feels that the team hasn’t had enough chemistry or time together to figure out the right ways to give them the much-needed dubs, and that is true to some extent as Anthony Davis had an injury ridden season and Russell Westbrook consistently gave bad performances, leaving no scope for a proper team play. With all of this clubbing together, it seems to be the end of Lakers for this season, and even a miracle sounds less at this point to even get them into the playoffs.

Let us now take a look at a few of the reactions people on twitter had to this statement made by LeBron James.
